Art made of marble and stone is one of the most resilient pieces of history. Although some of its preservation is due to maintenance and care from humans, as well as tight restrictions, the stone is in great condition considering it is centuries old. Humans have been documenting culture and shifts in society as long as we’ve been alive. David is looking great despite his age, and he holds so much artistry and information about humanity previous to our modern day and age. My interpretation of David was to take a modern approach, and use “pop’ colours that didn’t exist when David was created like they do now. David is art that has lasted throughout centuries and is still standing tall through all the societal shifts. However, our interpretations of him may change.
